Police drone finds massive heat source in search of weed farm. Busts massive bitcoin mine instead.

level 1

They were being used as part of a Bitcoin mining operation that was

stealing thousands of pounds-worth of electricity from the mains supply.

The mining of bitcoin is of course legal, but how they mined the bitcoin was not. Busted.

level 2

Today some guys from Turkey busted with smuggled GPU s (est. value 700.000 $)

level 2

i wonder how much did they mined until they got busted, looks like a lot of equipment.

level 2

US gov trying to raid the dip lol

level 2

How do you even steal electricity? Huh?

level 1

There’s more money in mining bitcoin than a grow op. Oh how the times are changing 🤣

level 2

Only if you’re stealing the electricity i guess.

level 1

lmao imagine how many more weed farmers there’d be once they learn they can use the excess heat of mining for growing more plants

level 2

I dont think I’d want the moisture from a growop near my mining rig.

My weed stays in the grow tent in my garage and my mining/folding rig stays safely in the house.

level 2

If you’re growing just about anything indoors heat is a problem from the lighting, not a benefit. This would apply in a greenhouse in the winter however.

level 2

thinking that the heat is needed to grow plants

level 2

Aquaponics, mining, solar, weeeeeeeeed. My cabin.

level 2

Heat doesn’t grow plants ……….

level 2

So if they have 420 mining rigs this would work 🙂

level 1

What a curious case. Stealing electricity to mine BTC.
